On November 29, Israeli doctors, led by Eran Maman, head of the shoulder surgery unit at Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv, visited our clinic for a friendly visit to share their experience.
Dr. Eran Maman participated in the development of the InSpace balloon, used in rotator cuff surgeries. Balloon implantation is intended to reduce stress on joint structures and reduce friction.
This minimally invasive procedure is an excellent alternative to complex open surgery.
In 2012, the first InSpace balloon surgery in Russia was performed at our clinic by its creator, Asaf Dekkel. Since then, the technology has been implemented at our clinic.
We currently have 150 surgeries under our belt. Using the innovative InSpace balloon, our specialists are now able to help patients who have failed conservative therapy.
This time, our colleagues from the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics, together with an Israeli doctor, successfully performed another surgery to implant the InSpace balloon for a rotator cuff injury.
